The Boundaries of Evil

God has taken steps to ensure that evil does not run amok in the world.

1. He instituted human government to withstand lawlessness. (Rom 13:4).
2. God founded the church to be a light in the midst of darkness, to strengthen God’s people and to help restrain the growth of wickedness in the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 16:5, 1 Timothy 3:15).
3. God has given the family unit to bring stability to society (Proverbs 22:15, Proverbs 23:13).  The healthier families are, the healthier society will be.

Helping create healthy families is a good goal for churches to accomplish. What could we be doing to help strengthen families?

1. God has provided a moral standard (The Bible) to guide us and keep us on the right path( Psalm 119).  As we live according to God’s Word, others around us are affected as well.

One day we will all face the divine Judge (Hebrews 9:27). Knowing this should serve as a deterrent to committing evil acts.
