A Pacifist View of War

The people that hold this view believe it is always wrong to injure or kill other humans regardless of the circumstances. This view is based on the exemplary life and teachings of Jesus.

Jesus taught to turn the other cheek when encountering evil and violence.

He instructed,” Do not resist the one who is evil.”
He urged, “ Love your enemies.”

He said, “ The kingdom is not to be advanced by physical force.

One of the Ten Commandments says, “ Do not murder.”

They believe war is mass murder.

Murder is prohibited because humans are created in God’s image.

Vengeance belongs to God, so Christians should never retaliate.

We are instructed to not be overcome by evil but rather overcome evil by good.

Paul said, “ If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”
